4. Leave the Washing Machine Open
The more humid it is the more you and your family will be sweating. This means that the washing machine will be working overtime. Make sure to air out the washing machine in order to prevent mold and mildew from leaving you a smelly washing machine. When you are finished with a load leave the machine door open. This will keep the moisture will be locked inside and become a breeding ground for bacteria and mold.
